MICHELIN Diamond tread pattern: more contact with the road surface

WHAT IS THE DIAMOND TREAD PATTERN?

Resulting from research and tested in live conditions, the diamond tread pattern mainly consists of independent, bevelled blocks. It provides more contact with the road surface than a bar based tread pattern.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR YOU?

TRACTION

With the MICHELIN diamond tread pattern, 44%(1) of the tread is always in contact with hard surfaces, while with a bar tread pattern, only 29%(1) of the tread is always in contact. This larger contact area provides exceptional traction, especially considering that two sections of lug are always in contact with the surface.

ROBUSTNESS

With pressure evenly distributed across the tire surface, this design helps maintain stability on various terrains, resulting in enhanced robustness and wear resistance.
